Welcome to Good Neighbor House

Good Neighbor House provides a helping hand to those in need. Our goal is to lift people up, provide hope during difficult circumstances and to help people “get on their feet”. We are a "Bridge To Self-Sufficiency". We invite you to "come on in" and take a look around the website, and to join us in this exciting endeavor.

Volunteers, You Make a Difference

"You Make a Difference" was the theme of our 15th annual  banquet put on by the Good Neighbor House board and staff for the volunteers who do so much at GNH. On Sunday, April 25th, at Walnut Grove Country Club, volunteers enjoyed a special brunch followed by a message from Charlie McMahan, Senior Pastor of SouthBrook Christian Church, who emphasized how by volunteering we can all make a difference.

"Above and Beyond" awards were given to Alex Bell Clinic,  James Garber, Dr. Martha Moody, and Ellie Welpman for the medical and provisional services they so generously provide.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this event possible -- and especially to our volunteers who make a difference every day!

- Volunteer: Jim Garber

Jim Garber has been a Good Neighbor House volunteer for several years -- too many to remember the exact year he started! He drives the Good Neighbor House truck for pantry and furniture pickups, and also fills in whenever needed. Always ready with a story or cracking a joke, what he likes most about volunteering is the people he works with. Jim says, "If you don't like the people you’re volunteering with, you won't be volunteering for very long." He says he also enjoys all the people he gets to meet while working for Good Neighbor House.
